What are Nitrogen Free Radicals and how do they relate to your skin health and appearance?
Nitrogen Free Radicals are very destructive molecules that cause aging changes in our skin. They result from car exhaust fumes, pollution, crop over-fertilization, and cigarette smoke, including second-hand smoke. In the same way that the original sunscreen formulas protected only from UVB and not UVA rays, all the other anti-oxidant formulas on the market today protect only from Oxygen- and not Nitrogen-free radicals. What are “Tyrosinase Inhibitors” and how does Age Change take a healthier, highly effective approach to skin brightening and fading age spots and uneven pigment?

*There are many fade ingredients on the market today. Each one works by inhibiting one of the enzymes necessary for our skin to make pigment (melanin). This enzyme is called tyrosinase, and the ingredients used to fade or brighten skin are all referred to as “tyrosinase inhibitors”. The two most popular of these ingredients are hydroquinone (the mainstay of skin lightening for decades now) and kojic acid (introduced about 15 years ago). Many dermatologists, critical of these two ingredients, cite the fact that not only do they inhibit tyrosinase but also many other enzymes within skin cells. So, from the time that Dr. Loretta started practicing dermatology, some thirty years ago, conventional wisdom was to not use any of these fade ingredients for more than several months in a row and then take a break.
